Top ARCite

The Top ARCite is an award for the ARC MEMBER who has contributed the most to the ARC in the past year. An individual may only receive this award once. ARC will provide a plaque to the recipient.

Friend of The Rottweiler Award

The Friend of the Rottweiler is an award for the PERSON OR GROUP, who has done the most for the Rottweiler breed in the United States in the past year. An individual may only receive this award once, with the exception being if the individual had or will receive the award as part of a committee or group. ARC will provide a plaque to the recipient(s).

Bruce Billings Good Sportsmanship Award

The Bruce Billings Good Sportsmanship Award (formerly called Gaines Good Sportsmanship Award) is intended to honor an ARC MEMBER who shows outstanding sportsmanship in conformation, obedience or any type of trial activities in the past year. An individual may only receive this award once. ARC will provide a plaque to the recipient.

American Rottweiler Club Good Samaritan Award

Awarded to any person who, in the opinion of the ARC Board of Directors, has aided and/or promoted an individual Rottweiler or our breed in some outstanding way. This award is intended for someone who does not own a Rottweiler, but it does not preclude someone who does from being honored.

This Year’s Recipients Are:

American Rottweiler Club Heroism Award

Awarded to any Rottweiler that, in the opinion of the ARC Board of Directors, has performed an act of "heroism". The dog need not be owned by an ARC member.

This year’s recipient is:

  • Kunga, owned by Sharon Ward

Kunga is a Search & Rescue dog who rescued a hunter lost in the Washinton mountains on 11/06/06. After breaking his leg and spending the night, Kunga found him the next day and the man was very disoriented. Kunga alerted and returned to Sharon to lead her back to the man. It took 2 hours to stabilize the man before he could be removed from his location and taken to a hospital. Good Dog Kunga!

 

Anvil T.R.U.E Awards

Anvil T.R.U.E Awards shall be presented annually to individuals and their Rottweilers for services performed outside the realm of competition. Applicants must have a minimum of 25 hours in a given year, donating their time and the ability of their Rottweiler to any one or a combination of the following categories: Therapy, Rescue, Utility or Education. A medallion will be offered by Donna Banker Rice through the ARC to all recipients.

ARC Rottweiler Volunteers of the Year Award

ARC Rottweiler Volunteers of the Year Award shall be offered annually to promote and encourage activities which present the positive aspects of the Rottweiler. Primary consideration for this award will be given to those individuals who have unselfishly devoted their time and the ability of their Rottweiler to improving their community or enhancing the lives of others. The Mirko Medallions will be offered by Donna Banker Rice through the ARC to all recipients.

This Year’s Recipients Are:

Einstein Award for Outstanding Rottweiler Ambassador

The Einstein Award for Outstanding Rottweiler Ambassador will be presented posthumously to a deserving canine candidate who died in the calendar year prior to the National Specialty and who was distinguished in the area of therapy, rescue or education. A perpetual trophy will be maintained by Dede and Mark Brownstein and the recipient will receive an engraved plaque for permanent possession.

This Year’s Recipient Is:

  • Angel, owned by Kathy Lovan

She was rescued by Kathy & Dennis Lovan - INKY (Indiana/Kentucky Rottie Rescue). She has been a 'mother figure' for rescues and became a spokesdog for INKY, attended pet fairs and helped to educate the public. Read her story at http://beauproductions.com/angel/

 

2006 CH Anka Von Gailingen Memorial TROPHY

This trophy, donated by Catherine M. Thompson, is awarded to the year’s Top Producing Rottweiler Bitch. Top producing is calculated by Champion of Record offspring as recorded in the March 2006 through February 2007 Title Reports received electronically from AKC.

In 2006, the top producing Rottweiler bitch had 5 Champions finish during the year. Close behind with 4 offspring finishing in 2006, were CH Von Wilhelm’s Carmen La Diva, CH Von Wilhelm’s Forture Teller and CH Woodrott Abbaz Trouble Maker. 2006 A/C CH Rodsdens Berte V Zederwald, CDX Memorial Award

Offered annually by Lew Olsen and Jeff Shaver through the ARC to the Top Producing Rottweiler Dog.
(AKC Champions of Record as recorded in the March 2006 through February 2007 Title Reports received electronically from AKC).

This year there were 223 Champions sired by 109 different dogs, 92 of which are Champions themselves. 78 of these dogs sired one Champion each; the remaining 21 dogs sired more than one Champion. Of these 12 sired two Champions; 7 sired three; and 3 sired four Champions.

The remaining 9 dogs are considered “Kennel Review” Top Producers. Two dogs, CH Apollonia Anything Goes, CH Mileah's Egyptian Blue, sired 5 Champions each; CH Dasko Vom Eisentor and CH Trinity Gamegards Sudden Impact RN PT sired 6; CH Crystal's Topaz V Ponca CD, CH Shelkon's A Cool Java Blend CDX RAE HT, and CH Von Boylan Antonio Banderas each sired 9 champions and CH Keerocka's Entertainer CD RN sired 12.

2006 CH Prico vom Hegestrauch Award

2006 Taxi Award

Offered annually by Connie Fountain Hinz through the ARC to the Top Producing Rottweiler Dam of Performance Dogs
(AKC Performance Titles as recorded in the March 2006 through February 2007 Title Reports received electronically from AKC).

The number 2 and 3 bitches were CH Phantom Wood Cadence CD RN TDX HT with 24 working offspring and CH Wyndhurst Leap to Evrmor, VCD2 RE HSAs AXP AJP with 23.

The winner and the number 3 bitch are full litter sisters and their mother, CH Evrmor’s Blackgammon V Baar CDX HT, had 11 working offspring herself this year.

The recipient of the 2006 “Taxi” award, with 40 PERFORMANCE TITLED OFFSPRING, is:

Mercury Award

Presented annually to the person who has traveled the farthest distance to attend the National Specialty.

  • Kaye & John Moore from New Zealand are the recipients of this year’s award.

In late 2005, the BOD voted to include RAE (dog’s 1st RAE only) in the Performance Champion Awards and they made it retroactive to include the 2 dogs that were the first to earn the title in 2005 and decided that they would be awarded to them at this year’s National.

2006 Production Awards

In 1998, AKC gave the number of litters for the 1998 Production Award Inductees. The following year, AKC changed their policy and would not release the figures. In 2001, AKC supplied the number of litters and puppies for the 2000 and 2001 Inductees and have continued to do so. However, ARC has to pay for this information and obtain written permission from the owners before releasing these figures. Dogs/Bitches whose owners do not sign or return the release to ARC have the “NP” printed next to the dog’s/bitch’s name.
