is producing on Rottweilers. 03/08/08 - Motion to require a copy of signed conformation
judge's contract be sent simultaneously with a request for an ARC Regional

coordinator, to review the final bylaw document (official 2/25/2008)
that will be sent to AKC, membership and placed on ARC website, and
to correct non-substantive errors such as spelling, grammar and typographical
errors, formatting etc. 03/11/08 - Motion to approve and make complete changes
and additions to the Junior Program Procedure as suggested by Marilyn
Piusz. Sections to be changed include 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, Soliciting of Applications
and Junior Fund 3. Sections to be added include 10, 11 and Junior Fund
4 as follows: 1. Under KRB Scholarship - i. delete last sentence - "Application
will also be printed yearly in the 3rd or 4th Quarter ARK." and
add to previous sentence "or from the ARC Policies & Procedures
Chairperson." We no longer do this. It is printed on the web and
is listed among the items that members can contact me if they want a
hard copy. 2. Under KRB Scholarship - last paragraph - after "ARK"
add "and on the ARC website." We are already doing this. 3.
Under Junior Liaison - delete last paragraph completely. When we approved
this program, AKC was not able to provide us with this information and
we had to search thru catalogs, etc. to try to find addresses. Now,
in the beginning of they year, AKC provides me with the names &
addresses of all Juniors who handled Rottweilers the previous year.
4. Under ARC National Specialty - 5th paragraph - change”award a trophy"
to "offer a prize" and then add ", as well as to any
Junior with a dog passing a Tracking Test." "prize" is
better, as a "trophy", to me anyways, brings to mind an actual
statue of some kind. And since there are no scores in Tracking, this
should be added, since it was our intent to include all performance
events. 5. Under KRB Top Junior Handler Award - lat paragraph - add
to end of sentence “and on the ARC web site." We are already doing
this. 6. Under Jr. Handlers in Companion Events Award - delete last
sentence completely. When we approved this program, AKC was not able
to provide us with the names of any Juniors participating in this program
with a Rottweiler, so the only way we had of knowing was if the Junior
applied. This is no longer the case; AKC now gives me this information.
7. Add New Section 9. - bestjunior.com Recognition Program. Motion was
past with the last Board to do this yearly. 8. Add New Section 10. Junior
Packets. We have been doing this since the program started, so we should
have actually added to procedure. 9. Under Scholarship Operating Procedure/Soliciting
of Applications - change sentence to read "The application form
may be obtained thru the ARC Junior Showmanship Committee, downloaded
from the ARC website or from the ARC Policies & Procedures Chairperson.
It will also be included in the Junior Packets." Same reason as
# 1. 10. Under Junior Fund/Junior Trophy Fund - end of last sentence
change "and trophies awarded each year on the Rottweiler Only/Armetale
Day to the Highest Scoring Junior in each performance event at the ARC
National Specialty" to "and prizes offered in each performance
event at the ARC National Specialty.” Same reason as #4 - don't really
think we need to include entire wording on HS Jr etc.; this should be
sufficient. 11. Under Junior Fund - add new section 4. Miscellaneous.
It should be stated where these funds are coming from, so there is no
confusion. 03/11/08- Motion to appoint Karen Perry as the alternate to the Junior
Scholarship Committee. Members include Chairperson Lew Olson, Connie
Fountain, & Cindy Leibert. 03/12/08 - Motion to accept changes to membership
application submitted 3/12/2008. 03/12/08 – Motion: Any member of the Board and/or
Committee who will incur more than $75 in expenses in a given month
must receive prior approval of the Board. Exempt from this ruling are
those whose job descriptions/committee procedures/standing rules specify
a different amount and those who are appointed to do a specific job;
e.g. printing & postage costs for Top Dog Chairman; printing &
postage costs of mailing annual Junior Packets, etc. Original receipts
must be in included with all reimbursement forms sent to the Treasurer
and should be sent monthly or quarterly. 03/14/08 - Motion to approve Western Rottweiler Owners
club as host of an ARC Region VI in Pleasanton, California on Friday
10/17/08. The conformation judge is Ms. Faye Strauss, Sweepstakes is
Ms. Connie Fountain-Hinz and Obedience & Rally is Mr. Pat Alvarez. 03/16/08 - Motion to send to the membership for their
review and comments the attached proposed changes to the Mandatory Practices. 03/17/08 - Motion to accept bid from the Colonial
Rottweiler Club to host the 2011 ARC National. The specialty will be

dates will follow once acceptance is given. 03/17/08 - Motion to accept bid from the Dogwood
Rottweiler Club of Atlanta to host the 2012 American Rottweiler Club
Specialty in Perry, Georgia. Specific dates will follow once acceptance
is given. 03/22/08 - Motion to remove new section 2.7 from Mandatory
Practices before mailing to membership. Temperament is covered in Introduction;
Sec. 1.4; Sec. 2.1; and Sec 2.2 or the current and proposed Mandatory
Practices. 03/22/08 - Motion not to publish the OFA reports that
members had previously purchased with their renewal forms (2003, 2004,
2005 and 2006). Instead a link will be included on the ARC web site
to the OFA Quarterly Reports page (www.offa.org/reports.html).
Those who purchased the list(s) and who are no longer ARC members will
be sent a refund check by the Membership Chairman; those who are still
members will be sent a credit along with their renewal form in May that
can be applied to their renewal/contributions. At that time, if for
some reason the member does not want the credit, he/she may opt to receive
a renewal check instead. Cite for the on line OFA Quarterly Reports
to also be printed in ARK. 03/26/08 - Motion to rescind original motion "03/20/08
- Motion to send a memoriam in honor of Mrs. Bernard Freeman to the
University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in the amount of $500,
to acknowledge her contribution to the health and well being of her
beloved breed, the Rottweiler." 03/26/08 - Motion to put a 2.25" X 1.00"
block ad in Dog Fancy for one year at the cost of $5232.60. This money
would come from BSL fund. This ad would run monthly in Dog Fancy. The
purpose and goal is to draw immediate attention to the words "PAWS4LAWS.COM"
and stimulate the desire to check it out. 03/28/08 - Motion to accept the letter to AKC judge's
that will be inserted in ARC Judge's Education folders beginning April
2008. 03/30/08 - Motion to authorize the JED CORD to send
the letter to Judging Applicants approved by AKC to all Working Dog
Judges here and in Canada. The letter would be addressed to all Working
Dog Judges instead of Judging Applicants but would have no other changes. |
