10/02/08 - Motion: To approve Cathy Rubens presenting a Judge's education workshop, on behalf of the American Rottweiler Club, to be held to be held on either Friday March 20, 2009 or Saturday March 21, 2009 at the 2008 Tarheel Cluster.

10/04/08 - Motion to amend Motion made by Jeff Shaver and Seconded by Jeff Gregg: Motion: To approve the purchase of 100 copies of the CD used for Judge's Education, at $15.00 each to be sent to Cathy Rubens as Judge's Education Coordinator, such CDs to be used and provided only to those eligible to obtain them as part of ARC approved Judge's Education activities. All CDs shall be documented as to whom they are given, on what date and at what event and reported to the current ARC Board Liaison for Judge's Education. No person already in possession of a CD should be provided another copy without compensation to the American Rottweiler Club.
To be amended as follows:

10/04/08 - MOTION: Whereas on 9/9/2008 a letter was sent certified mail to Lynn Lopez setting a deadline of 9/18/2008 to return all ARC financial records and property to the President (with no response) and a letter dated 9/30/2008 was emailed to Lynn Lopez on 10/1/2008 setting a deadline of 10/3/2008 at 5:00p.m. to advise the Board of The American Rottweiler Club whether she would return any and all records, documents and property to the Treasurer Marilyn Piusz (deadline passed and no response), it is hereby MOVED that Lynn Lopez is to return by the fastest means possible, to Marilyn Piusz at the address for Mrs. Piusz as shown in the current ARC membership roster all documents, records and, material in her possession or under her control related in any way to the finances of the American Rottweiler Club, whether historical or current, including but not limited to: bank records, bank statements, canceled checks, financial reports of any kind, budgets, ledgers, receipts, emails or faxes or correspondence to or from any financial institutions related to the American Rottweiler Club, signature cards, access codes, all correspondence in any form to or from Ed Sledzik (ARC paid CPA), and any computer programs (QuikBooks, Quiken or the like) and/or data that in any way store or manipulate other data regarding treasury or banking information or numbers for ARC accounts. If it relates to the American Rottweiler Club Finances in any way, past or present, and in the possession, custody or control of Lynn Lopez, it shall be returned. The deadline for returning, in hand, the above described categories of material is no later seven (7) consecutive calendar days from the earlier date of EITHER Ms. Lopez' notification of the passing of this motion, by email to all known email addresses, OR the date she receives notice from the USPS that she has a Certified Mail Return Receipt letter to be picked up by her.

10/11/08 - Motion: To avoid additional cost to the ARC for more expenses related to financial reviews, by three weeks (calendar days) after the ARC BOD receives the club's records from Lynn Lopez, Interim Treasurer Marilyn Piusz shall be authorized to, and shall conduct and complete, a review of all available ARC accounts and records so as to provide the Board a full report on all ARC assets and debt, if any. All findings shall be used where needed to complete tax returns and to reconcile, if need be, any and all ARC funds and accounts. These tasks to be completed, if possible, by three weeks after the records are in the possession of the ARC BOD.

Member Motions The ARC Board received the following motion 10/16/08 - I, Grace Acosta, being a member in good standing of American Rottweiler Club respectfully move to make a motion that the ARC Board of Directors take a recount of the entire voting record, of Lynn Lopez as Treasurer and member of the board, and of EACH member of the ARC Board. These voting records of Board members to be published in the ARC website and ARK. The recount should include: 1. All votes 2. All abstentions 3. All absenteeism of votes (not including if Ms. Lopez or any other board member was absent due to official club business). 4. All dates relative to February 28, 2008 and to September 8, 2008

10/17/08 - Motion: As the "American Rottweiler Yahoo Group" is not owned or run by ARC, a motion is made to disallow any further association with the "American Rottweiler Yahoo Group" to include use of the ARC name, logo, brand, or any other type of association with the American Rottweiler Club. Yahoo will be notified that the Board of Directors of the American Rottweiler Club has voted to discontinue the "American Rottweiler Club Yahoo Group" and it is to be removed/shut down immediately.

10/17/08 - Motion: To establish on the official ARC web site a separate section with ID login for the Breeders Education Program. The web section will be the property of ARC Inc. and will be maintained by the Breeders Education Committee. The Breeders Education Committee will be responsible for all materials posted, regular maintenance, and integrity of all written and photographic material and will work in conjunction with the ARC webmaster. ARC retains ultimate control over all content and use of the web site and may remove or add information as it deems necessary. The Breeders Committee Chair will forward on to the ARC Board and ARC Web Master the names of the Breeders Educations Committee members that will have access for maintaining the web section. Any changes in personnel who have or will have authority to maintain the web section will be forwarded on to the ARC Board for approval and ARC webmaster prior to any changes or immediately after should circumstances dictate. All costs related to establishing this web section will be covered by the Purina Partnership Fund

10/26/08 - Motion: To retain, on behalf of the Officers and Directors of the American Rottweiler Club Inc., as the official representatives of the Club, the firm of Brassel, Baldwin, Kagan & May P.A., for the purpose of obtaining the lawful return of ALL ARC club property from Lynn Lopez. This property shall include, but is not limited to: QuickBooks files, bank statements, checkbooks, club membership and other confidential information. Property is to be returned to the ARC Treasurer, Marilyn Piusz. All means of legal return efforts shall be exhausted; however expenditures for litigation shall be pre-approved by the Board. Funds to be expended for the initial work shall not exceed $1000 and will be paid from the general fund. Jeff Shaver will serve as the Boards' representative with the firm and is authorized to sign the contract. All communication between the ARC Board and the firm shall remain confidential and privileged.

10/22/08 - Motion: Effective with the Futurity held at the 2009 National only one judge will be used to judge all Futurity classes. In the event the number of dogs entered requires a second judge, the candidate receiving the second highest total number of points shall judge the bitch class only.

10/24/08 - Motion: Whereas the ARC has now signed an agreement of cooperation with AKC, the U.S. government and other working dog club entities to develop and /or promote the availability of domestically bred dogs suitable for use by the government of the United States in service roles for the country, a Working Dog Development Committee is hereby formed, as a standing committee of the American Rottweiler Club, to work in cooperation with other representatives of the signatory parties and/or on its own, to develop criteria, guidelines and ideas for our members and breed, to enable the ARC to aid in the promotion of Rottweilers from this country for service with the United States Government. Members of the committee shall be appointed from time to time by the Board of Directors to further these goals.

10/24/08 - Motion: To establish a "Committee on Longevity" as a standing Committee of the American Rottweiler Club, to me made up of ARC members in good standing as approved from time to time by the Board of Directors, to develop guidelines and criteria to track, study and recognize those Rottweilers, whose lines (or individuals) have demonstrated exceptional longevity, for the purpose of furthering the good health and well being of our breed through conscientious breeding efforts.
