MESSAGE FROM THE ARC PRESIDENT

Hello ARC Members,

Let me start with a correction from last week's message. When I said the ARC would not be fined for the Secretary's mistakes in the catalog, I meant to say "2009" NOT NEXT year's National. I am sure Mile High will be glad to know they are not in trouble before the Specialty even gets here! Sorry about that. Old "Eagle Eye" Janet Noble caught that one for me. Thanks.

The Mandatory Practices votes are tabulated and the results and new Mandatory Practices are on the webpage. Please read these and make sure you understand that they apply to us all. No matter how you voted, they apply to all ARC members. Thanks again to the Mandatory Practices Committee for months of work on drafting these in their initial stages.

The Legislative Committee met by conference call this Thursday for our bimonthly call. Due to personal reasons, we have had a couple of members ask for a "vacation". We certainly appreciate all their effort, so I decided to allow them to take off for a bit! If anyone would like to get on board the committee, you will be doing the club, its members and your dogs a big favor. Email me or call to see what is expected of you on the committee.

I am in the process of correlating a large volume of club contacts for all Rottweiler groups in the United States to send a letter regarding joint efforts to work for our dogs on the legislative front. If you belong to another club and that club does not get a letter from me in the next two weeks, give me a call. Maybe we missed one? After these letters go out all breed clubs, then Kennel and obedience clubs will be contacted as well.

My message this week has to be short as our Webmaster and my Taskmaster (Audrey) is working on the Members Only portion the webpage, so I told her I would limit my message.

Have a great week,

Jeff Shaver
