ARC 2009 ElectionAfter further consultation with Chris Dickey, Parliamentarian, the board has learned that because the original motion (see below*) appointing Jim Runck specified that he was to complete the term of Lester Cerana and because there were no additional nominations, that there is no need for a ballot to be sent and the Nominated Slate will be declared elected on June 1st. They will take office on July 1st. *Motion to appoint Jim Runck to fill the Director's position left vacant by the resignation of Lester Cerana. The incoming Officers/Directors for the next term (2009 – 2011) will be as follows:
Resumes for all of the above will be printed in the 2nd Quarter ARK. ARC Nominated SlateThe Nominating Committee, Jeannette Quay, Eileene Stewart, & Martha Turner-Dunn, has submitted the following slate for the 2009 Election:
* Please note that whether or not additional nominations are made, there will have to be an election for Directors, as one position is to complete the term for Lester Cerana who resigned as a 2008 – 2010 Director in October, 2008. The person receiving the 3rd highest number of votes will be the Director to serve for 1 year. Per the ARC Bylaws: Additional nominations of eligible members may be made by written petition and addressed to the Secretary and received at his regular address no later than April 1st, signed by 5 members and accompanied by the written acceptance of each such additional nominee signifying his willingness to be a candidate. No person shall be a candidate for more than 1 position, and the additional nominations which are provided for herein may be made only from among those members who have not accepted a nomination of the nominating committee. If no valid additional nominations are received by the Secretary by April 1st, the nominating committee’s slate shall be declared elected on June 1st, and no balloting will be required. (Except as noted above.) The Nominating Form, Candidate Resume Form, and Job Descriptions for the positions are available on the ARC Website: www.amrottclub.org (Club Information; bottom left – ARC Forms and Applications) or from the Secretary. Nominations that are not submitted on the ARC Nomination Form will be accepted provided they abide by the conditions in Article IV, Section 5. of the ARC Constitution and Bylaws.
