At their April meeting, the AKC Board rejected ARC’s request to lower the Obedience Jump Heights for Rottweiler. The ARC Board has written AKC asking them to reconsider their decision. See both letters below.
Dear Rottweiler Owners:
I would like to invite you to one of the most exciting events in New York City: the German-American Steuben Parade. For over half a century, this parade on Fifth Avenue has celebrated the culture and traditions of German immigrants to America as well as the historic achievements of German-Americans over four centuries.
Obedience Jump Heights
At their October meeting, the AKC Board removed the moratorium on Parent Clubs requesting a lowering of jump heights for their breed in obedience. An application form has been developed for any Parent Club wishing to make such a request.
The American Rottweiler Club is in the process of completing the application from to request that the jump heights for Rottweilers be lowered to ¾ of their height at the withers.
