AKC Good Sportsmanship Award

The American Kennel Club offers the AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award to the American Rottweiler Club and other member clubs to award to its members.  The award recognizes an ARC member who makes a difference in the world of purebred dogs, embodies the AKC Code of Sportsmanship and has been an active and valued ARC member. An individual may only receive this award once.

The award is presented at the Awards event at the National Specialty. Nominations may be submitted by individuals or by clubs listed in the Local and Regional Clubs list. Nominations will be reviewed and approved by the ARC Board.

A medallion representing this award is offered by AKC.

The 2018 award winner is Alexandra Gebhardt-Niles,  for her excellent job representing the American Rottweiler Club through the Meet the Breeds booth at the Westminster Kennel Club show, and appearing in TV spots during Westminster week with her Rottweiler “Talos” (Multi V-1 Rated AKC GCH/CH UKC CH URO1 Int’l CH Bang’s All Shook Up, CD, BN, RE, CS, TKP, CGCA, CGCU, TT, SN-C, CD-C, CDX-C, RL3) exhibiting the positive side of a well-bred Rottweiler.
