To the ARC membership:
As you are aware, the Board missed the deadlines for the upcoming Board Directors and Officers election. There are no excuses. Please accept this apology to the membership as we accept full responsibility for these missed deadlines.
The ARC Board contacted our AKC Delegate, Peter Piusz, and he recommended that we reach out to both Chris Dickey, ARC’s Parliamentarian and Lisa Cecin, AKC Director of Club Relations. Lisa Cecin advised to follow our Parliamentarians advice for corrective action to be taken based on their knowledge of the State of Incorporation for the club. Lisa Cecin also advised to send out an informational club notice on our website, board meeting minutes, and to each member, which we are currently working on. Chris Dickey has a plan to move forward with the election process which will meet the appropriate timeline. The initial mailing for the election with the nominated slate from the nomination committee will be mailed April 10th. The membership will be given 30 days from the date of the mailing to submit applications to run from the floor, through May 11th. After that date, the official election ballot will be sent within 15 days and the membership will be given 45 days to return their ballots, if there are any nominations from the floor. The newly elected board officers and directors will take office on July 1. We are anticipating mailing the official election ballot immediately and not requiring the 15 days allowed.
I recommend to the membership to please reach out to the board through official communication with any questions and concerns. Again, the Board sincerely apologizes for these missed deadlines.
